Art Deco At Grist Mill Antiques
Published January 30th, 2009
The Art Deco period, which officially began in 1925 at the Paris International Exposition and continued in full flower throughout the 1930’s, 1940’s, and even into the 1950’s, is usually associated with terms like “streamlined” and “modern”.
Chrome, blue glass, slender nudes, and waterfall-front furniture bespeak the period.
Because it was such a new design concept and because, even seventy years later, it still looks strikingly modern, Art Deco is highly prized by collectors.
The Grist Mill Antiques Center in Pemberton, New Jersey, has gathered numerous examples of Art Deco design into one gigantic display throughout the months of January and February.
Chrome barware, utilitarian kitchenware, dressing table accessories, nude figurines, vases, and prints are among the many items on display. And, as always, every item is for sale.
The Grist Mill is located on Hanover Street in Pemberton, Burlington County. It is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours on Wednesday evenings. For directions and more information, call (609) 726-1588.
