Bick Currency And Stamp Expos

Published July 14th, 2008

Bick International’s schedule of Coin, Currency, Jewelry, and Stamp Expos for 2008-2009 is available at www.bick.net. Hailed as “The Most Outstanding Retail Shows In the West,”† each expo offers top offers from quality dealers, plus free appraisals. Israel I. Bick, Managing Director of the International Coin & Stamp Collectors Society, proudly announces the continuation of another special feature of the shows - “Stamps For Soldiers.”

In conjunction with Eugene Moore, Coordinator of “Stamps For Soldiers,” a special area is set up for donations of used stamps, preferably on paper, but off is still acceptable, for disabled veterans at VA Hospitals around the country. The stamps are used to provide manual exercise and artistic challenges to the wheelchaired Veterans, who then turn the stamps into collages and other artworks.

There are any number of places to find “collections” of used stamps. Attics and storage rooms yield childhood “treasures,” or a collection found in an inheritance which only had sentimental value to the collector. Sometimes people amassed collections of stamps at their jobs, or from their personal mail and now have no use for them. All stamps are sent to Mr. Moore and letters of thanks are sent to the donor. This is one of the easiest ways to lend a hand to those in need. If coming to the shows is a hardship, call Israel Bick, who will provide the address where stamps can the sent.
