New Art And Antiques Fair Planned For Salzburg

Published February 2nd, 2007

The new annual Salzburg World Fine Art Fair for arts and antiques is scheduled to take place in July at the Salzburg Archbishop’s Residence, the fair’s organizers said at a press conference Thursday in Vienna.

Held during the first week of the Salzburg Festival, the organizers intend to “present high-quality art in a historical setting,” Sixtine Crutchfield from the Geneva-based Art Culture Studio said.

The Salzburg fair is modelled on the Moscow World Fine Art Fair, to be held for the fourth time in the Russian capital in May 2007.

Like in Moscow, the Salzburg fair plans to offer artworks ranging from antiquity to contemporary art.

Forty to 50 international galleries and art dealers are expected to participate, a quarter of them specializing in jewellery.
